Chris in at Jubilee

The latest meeting of Jubilee Mark Lodge No. 375 witnessed the advancement of Chris Woodburn into the order. He had been proposed for membership by lodge secretary Brian Benn and seconded by treasurer Peter Quirk.
Chris Woodburn, Chris Gray and Stuart Brackstone
Ulverston Masonic Hall was the venue for what was to be a delightful ceremony. WM Chris Gray delivered the first part of the ritual which included the obligation. He then handed over to Stuart Brackstone for the final part of the advancement. Both performed their tasks well and ensured the evening was an enjoyable one.

Chris, the candidate, and I have a connection as he is the treasurer in a couple of other orders of which I am the secretary so we work together often. I was delighted to be permitted by the WM to present the working tools and also give the final welcoming address to my friend.
Nigel Higginson J.J.O.
Senior deacon Pat Moss, ably assisted by his junior counterpart David Smith, did sterling work in conducting the new member through the ceremony. He well deserved the praise he later received.
After labour refreshment
Before the start it was realised that someone was needed to fill the role of junior overseer. Nigel Higginson the WM of Garnett Mark Lodge No 146 was in attendance and, having made a guest appearance in that role at Scorton Mark Lodge on the previous evening, was the obvious choice to be volunteered for the job. He once again did do with distinction and has deservedly earned the sobriquet of J.J.O.- Jobbing Junior Overseer!
The enjoyable ceremony was followed by an equally enjoyable supper at which the craic and laughter paid witness to the Magic of the Mark.
